TransLeader Dissemination Event: International Round Table on AI and IoT in Education, Water Management, and Engineering

On November 29, 2024, from 10:00 to 12:00 CET, the International Scientific and Practical Round Table "AI and IoT in Education, Water Management, and Engineering" was successfully organized online via the Google Meet platform by teams from National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (NUWEE, Ukraine) and the University of Bielsko-Biala (UBB, Poland).

Event Agenda

The event featured insightful presentations by experts on various applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT):

  • Vasyl Martsenyuk and Aleksandra Klos-Witkowska (UBB): Good Practices in Hands-On Learning and Knowledge Transfer in AI and IoT
  • Andriy Bomba (NUWEE): AI Methods in Immunology Problems
  • Yuriy Turbal (NUWEE): Methods of Intelligent Analysis of Small and Weakly Structured Data
  • Viktor Zhukovsky (NUWEE): IoT-Based Intelligent Information Analytical System Architecture for Water Tank Monitoring
  • Olena Demchuk (NUWEE): AI in Education

Organizers and Participants

The round table was jointly organized by the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (Ukraine) and the University of Bielsko-Biala (Poland). It marked the first initiative in Rivne, Ukraine, dedicated to addressing the challenges of AI and IoT, attracting the participation of approximately 20 higher education instructors from Ukraine.

TransLeader Project Highlights

The event provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the TransLeader project, introduced by Vasyl Martsenyuk and Aleksandra Klos-Witkowska (University of Bielsko-Biala). During their 30-minute presentation, they detailed the project's background, objectives, target groups, and key activities. Special attention was given to the dissemination of results from Work Packages 2 and 3 (WP2 & WP3), including:

  • Methodology for collecting best practices in AI and IoT
  • Systematic Literature Review (SLR) findings on AI/IoT
  • Insights into IoT leadership

The presentation was followed by a lively and productive discussion, where participants exchanged ideas and perspectives on addressing AI and IoT challenges in education and beyond.

Key Takeaways

The event was a meaningful step in fostering collaboration among educators and researchers, sharing best practices, and advancing discussions on emerging technologies. It also strengthened the dissemination of TransLeader project results among Ukrainian educators, contributing to capacity-building in the region.
